Founded in 1882, Covina is seven square miles and located in the heart of the East San Gabriel Valley, approximately 22 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. It is centered in the midst of Interstate freeways 10, 210, and 605, and State Route 57. Residents, employees, and visitors can spend a nostalgic day downtown, enjoying “mom and pop” shops, dining in fine eateries, socializing at local hot spots, visiting vintage and modern clothing stores, hobby shops, and antique stores. The renovated Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) is a facility that serves as the architectural and entertainment cornerstone of Downtown Covina. Providing excellent customer service to its citizens and businesses is the highest priority of Covina’s Mayor, City Council and City Manager, and many special events are held to bring the whole Covina community together.
